8:00 am to 9:00 am

For the remainder of 2009, it is the intention that our monthly men’s breakfast get-togethers will be held in the Church Hall on the second Saturday of each month at 8.00 a.m. The only exception will be August when we have a summer break in the programme.

The theme for the remainder of this year is the men that Jesus encountered in his minsitry (eg a rich young man, a diseased man, a blind man, a greedy/wealthy man etc) and how it changed them and how any lesons learned may relate to our day to day life in the modern world.

The speakers will be drawn from our own men’s breakfast fellowship. You will start with breakfast and have a chat with the other men attending (we really are a very friendly bunch and you will be made very welcome). After a talk, we have prayers and finish off with a hymn. We are even developing into a semi-decent male voice choir (well we think so anyway).

For any further information, please email: mensbreakfast@allsaintschildwall.org.uk. No need to book, just turn up!

WESLEY OWEN

Wesley owen is a Christian retailer, whose mission is to help Christians grow and reach others by providing the very best Christian resources. They run a chain of some 40 shops and are also active through local and national events. In order to be effective in this ministry, they have a team of volunteers working alongside employees.

Like many other retailers, they are experiencing very difficult trading conditions and are looking to recruit volunteers to support their staff team, which will enable them to keep the Christian bookshop on the high street. How can you help?

  • If you are interested in finding out more about volunteering, log onto www.wesleyowen.com
  • Visit a shop and discover the wealth of books on offer
  • Pray for the staff and the work of the shop

SUMMER SERVICES

Please note that from Sunday July 26th, our Sunday services at 11 a.m. will have an even more informal feel for the summer period. Our Sunday Children’s Work will finish for the summer on that day and will resume at the beginning of September. More details will be available nearer the time.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES

In the autumn the Vicar and Curate will begin preparing both young people and adults for confirmation at the Confirmation service on Sunday November 1st. If you would like to register an interest at this stage, or simply want to know more about what confirmation is and what it entails, please speak with either Gary or Scott on any Sunday, at Vestry Hour on a Tuesday evening or phone the vicarage on 0151 737 2169.
