PLEASE PRAY (14 JUN ’09)

PRAISE GOD:

·  That the Kingdom of God is growing like a mustard seed

·  That the Kingdom of God has come near to us in Jesus Christ

·  That the Kingdom of God is most fully revealed in the lives of those who faithfully own Christ as King

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

· The Special Service at the Methodist Church today, giving thanks for all who attend, and for Mark Turner as he speaks at the service

· The Playgroup Management Committee meeting on Monday, giving thanks for the strong heart of the Playgroup and for all the staff, children, parents and helpers associated with it

· The Standing Committee meeting on Tuesday, praying for wisdom, discernment and leadership in all that is discussed

· The Deanery Synod meeting at All Saints’ on Wednesday, for Kip Crookes (Area Dean) as he chairs the meeting and for all that will be considered, most especially new and innovative ways of working  together as churches and communities

· Gary as he meets on Thursday with Philip Anderson, Chaplain of Liverpool Hope University, praying for the work of the chaplaincy and also for Gerald Pillay in his strategic leadership role in the   university

· For Wendy Taylor and her team in the continuing transition of our Sunday children’s work into the Hall

· Preparations for the Art Exhibition as a whole, and for Dick Williams and Henry Stott as they lead and organise in all that needs to be done before the weekend of July 3rd to 5th

· Those elected to the European Parliament, especially in the light of the worrying increase in politicians from the far Right elected in a number of member states

· The work, mission and ministry of Christian theatre groups and companies, especially those working to spread the Gospel in schools and colleges with children and young people.

· The sick and those undergoing medical procedures.

· All who grieve the loss of a loved one or  remember the anniversary of a death at this time

Collect for first Sunday of Trinity

God of truth,
help us to keep your law of love
and to walk in ways of wisdom,
that we may find true life
in Jesus Christ your Son. Amen
