The church was full, almost to overflowing, at the recent funeral of our dear friend Bill Gaze. In a moving service tributes were made to the work he did at All Saints as Church Warden, in the Youth Club, the Boys Brigade, and the Churchyard Gardening Team. For the last 20 years or so Bill organised the latter’s work in maintaining a large area of our extensive grounds in a condition worthy of our beautiful old church building. Wednesday mornings would see him busy in his favourite patch – the wall garden leading down from the Hearse House, and at refreshment time his tea would be rightly offered in a “Head Gardener” mug he claimed as his own! The team members are almost all Senior Citizens with several well now in their 80’s. We talk nationally about having to support our ageing population, and here at All Saints an ageing group of gardeners certainly needs some support, otherwise the excellent work of Bill’s little team will be impossible to maintain in the future. In grateful appreciation of his leadership in this
practical, “get your hands dirty” service to the church, there must be some from that large congregation
who might feel inspired to join in this activity. We are as much an entity in fellowship as any other church
group, and as an added bonus those involved get some useful exercise. Please, please give it a try. Would any volunteers please give their names to Peter Kefford – or simply turn up on the next fine Wednesday morning around
9.30am. Alternatively, you may email info@allsaintschildwall.org.uk for more information or to offer your support.

Thank you for the generous gifts which were donated at the Harvest Thanksgiving services. Many individuals have sent cards and letters in appreciation of the Harvest Gifts which they have received. The South Liverpool Foodbank
team wrote” Thank you for your support and encouragement for the Foodbank.”.
