PRAISE GOD:

· For the gift of Jesus Christ

· For the gift of the Holy Spirit

· For the gift of the Gospel of salvation

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

· Those children and families who receive the gifts given at the Toy and Parade Service, that they will know somehow that the gifts represent in some small way the love that God has for them in Christ Jesus

· The Uniformed Organisations as they prepare to break for Christmas, giving thanks for the commitment and dedication of the leaders of all the organisations at All Saints’

· Pathfinders and CYFA as they break for Christmas, giving thanks for the leadership of these groups and for the numbers of young people involved

· Tim and Carol Derbyshire, who are with us for a short period, praying that God will go before them as they prepare to move to Australia to begin a new life and new ministries, and also remembering the work of Msalata Theological College

· Roger and Caroline Thornington who, after many years of life, work and ministry here in Liverpool, move this coming week to Kent to be nearer their family in retirement

· The Congregational Meeting on Monday evening, that God and His purposes remain at the heart of all that is discussed and considered regarding the development of our buildings and site

· Final preparations for the Childwall CE Primary School KS2 Nativity in Church on Wednesday and the Playgroup Nativity in church on Friday, and the Rock Club Nativity and Carols by Candlelight next Sunday

· The international talks in Copenhagen regarding climate change and the environment, especially for wisdom for delegates as they sift through a huge amount of scientific data and opinion, praying they can lay aside personal agendas for the good of all

· The mission and ministry of the many Christian agencies and societies who are working at home and abroad with children and families over the Christmas period to bring practical help, love, care and support into the lives of those who are disadvantaged or dispirited

· The sick and those undergoing medical procedures.

· All who grieve the loss of a loved one or remember the anniversary of a death at this time.

Collect for 3rd Sunday of Advent

God for whom we watch and wait,
you sent John the Baptist to prepare the way of your Son:
give us courage to speak the truth,
to hunger for justice,
and to suffer for the cause of right,
with Jesus Christ our Lord
. Amen
