PRAISE GOD:

  • That Christ is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1 v 15)
  • That Christ is the firstborn over all creation (Colossians 1 v 15)
  • That all things were created by Christ and for Christ (Colossians 1 v 16)


PLEASE PRAY FOR:

  • Scott as he leads worship and preaches at Norris Green this morning, and for all the members of that church fellowship
  • CYFA as they make their final preparations to lead us in worship this evening, that all that is said and done will lead all who are at the service into a deeper knowledge and experience of Jesus Christ as Lord
  • The Playgroup Management meeting on Monday, giving thanks to God for the ministry of our Playgroup to children and families
  • Storytime on Monday morning, giving thanks for the large numbers of children and carers who are coming along week by week
  • The Congregational Meeting on Monday, holding  before God the various topics that we will consider  together, especially the concluding elements of the development proposals before we proceed to planning
  • Deanery Synod on Wednesday in Halewood, praying for the ongoing process by which the churches in our deanery outwork what it means to share more closely in mission and ministry
  • The Prayer Area of the PCC meeting on Thursday, praying particularly for their consideration of how as a church we might most appropriately Prayer Walk in our community
  • Joan McClelland as she prepares to fly out to Malawi on Friday and for all the work she will do in both offering first-hand paediatric care and in training and updating    others
  • Preparations for the St Valentine’s Day Lunch and Walk, that all ages will come and enjoy fellowship and fun together
  • The Government and people of Iran as they reflect on some of the information and comment emerging from the Chilcott Enquiry, praying for a restrained and measured response
  • The mission and ministry of Wycliffe Bible Translators, who exist to make the Scriptures available amongst  different people groups and communities in their own language and cultural idiom
  • The sick and those undergoing medical procedures.
  • All who grieve the loss of a loved one or remember the anniversary of a death at this time.


Collect for Second Sunday before Lent

Almighty God,
give us reverence for all creation
and respect for every person,
that we may mirror your likeness
in Jesus Christ our Lord . Amen

MENS BREAKFAST

8:00 am to 9:00 am

  • The next Men’s Breakfast will be held in the church hall on Saturday 13th February form 8.00am till about 9.00am. Our speaker this month is Robinson Thamburaj who is a research fellow at Hope University. He is from Madras Christian College and is here on an  exchange until October 2010. Continuing our theme of looking at those whom Jesus came into contact with  during his time on earth, Robinson is going to talk about ‘a possessed man’ (Mark C6 v 53-56. All men welcome. Please come and join us for breakfast, a time of sharing any concerns or joys, listening to Robinson and finishing with a time of prayer and joining in a resounding hymn together.
