PRAISE GOD:
- That He is Jehovah-Jireh, the Provider God
- That He is Jehovah-Rophe, the Healer God
- That He is Jehovah-M’Kaddesh, the Holy God
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- Those with the particular responsibility for the nurture and parenting of children, especially mothers, praying especially for those families facing pressures or stresses at this time
- Those facing this Mother’s Day for the first time without their mother being with them, and those who remember today the loss of a mother in time past
- Those for whom Mother’s Day is a difficult day given their relationship with their own mothers, children or grandchildren, or else their lack of longed for children
- The leaders of our Uniformed Organisations, giving thanks for their dedication and devotion in serving our children and young people week on week
- The Development Area of the PCC and the full PCC meeting on Monday and for the leadership and wisdom the PCC members are called to offer in leading us in mission and ministry
- Gary as he has two nights away for prayer, study and reflection as part of his personal equipping for leadership and ministry in our church
- Preparations for the Weekend Away, and especially that those who are considering making a booking will feel comfortable and confident enough to do so
- The Diocesan Teaching Day on Fresh Expressions on Saturday at the Convention Centre with Bishop James and Bishop Graham Cray, and for those church members who are attending, that God will use this day to encourage and refresh the church in its calling to this generation
- The people and government of Iraq following the recent elections, that peace, stability, justice and prosperity would be the obvious markers of an emerging and healthy democracy
- The mission and ministry of those Christian groups and agencies seeking to stop the trafficking of women and girls or else seeking to bring education and opportunity to women and girls, especially in those countries and cultures where women are oppressed and girls marginalised
- The sick and those undergoing medical procedures.
- All who grieve the loss of a loved one or remember the anniversary of a death.
Collect for fourth Sunday of Lent
Merciful Lord,
you know our struggle to serve you:
when sin spoils our lives
and overshadows our hearts,
come to our aid
and turn us back to you again;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
