POVERTY:LETS END IT – CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 2010

09/05/2010 to 15/05/2010

‘Poverty-let’s end it’- that’s the aim of this years Christian Aid Week campaign which runs from 9-15 May this year. As one of the 22,000 participating churches in Britain, our task will be to ‘go out’ and collect from the 56 roads within our parish. So if you wish to show your concern for the world’s needy, please consider being a Christian Aid collector. Envelopes will be available shortly, but to offer help, or to get further details, please contact Malcolm Baines (722 0727) or                     Sue Watterson (428 8406) or email info@allsaintschildwall.org.uk

PLEASE PRAY… 02 MAY 2010

The weekly prayers listed in full below are also available as a pdf download. Please click on the link. 2010 May 2 PLEASE PRAY

PRAISE GOD:

  • That He calls us to co-operate with Him
  • That He calls us out of the present and into the future

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

  • Stephen Phillips and Melanie Langtry who are marrying at All Saints this afternoon, that they may grow in their love for each other and in love for God
  • The Contemporary Worship this evening, that many will come and experience new and refreshed ways of praying so that their walk with Christ is further enlivened and   deepened
  • The Messy Church leaders meeting on Tuesday evening at the Vicarage, giving thanks to God for the ways in which we have reached out relevantly to children and families through this Fresh Expression of worship
  • The meeting of Standing Committee on Wednesday, praying especially for the preparations for the first meeting of the newly constituted PCC later this month
  • Our Wardens, Peter and Keith, and our Deputy Wardens, Ruth and Jane, giving thanks for the leadership and  commitment that they show week on week in facilitating our worship and various elements of our common life
  • Gary who is in London on Friday for a meeting of the  Candidates Panel at Church House, Westminster, praying the wisdom and leading of the Holy Spirit in the important decisions that are taken regarding the training and ministry of those candidates brought to them for particular                 consideration
  • The people and leadership of Greece in this period of  political, financial and national turmoil, that wise decisions with a long term perspective would be taken with regard to attending to its debt crisis
  • Those who are standing in the local elections on May 6th, and whom it would be so easy to overlook at this time of national election fervour, especially that we may vote with wisdom, discernment and insight at a local level, too
  • The final days of campaigning for the national elections to be held on May 6th, that truth and integrity would be     apparent in the pronouncements of both politicians and the media, and that Christians would vote prayerfully and also aware of the sovereignty of God over people and     nations
  • The ministry and mission of University and College Chaplains, especially for the Chaplaincy Team at Hope, praying that they will be faithful in taking the many  opportunities they have to engage evangelistically with young women and men during one of the most open and formative periods of the life
  • The sick and those undergoing medical procedures.
  • All who grieve or who remember the anniversary of a death at this time.
