PLEASE PRAY… 30 MAY 2010

The weekly prayers listed in full below are also available as a pdf download. Please click on the link. 2010 May 30 PLEASE PRAY

PRAISE GOD:

  • That He sends the Holy Spirit
  • That the Holy Spirit draws us to Jesus and makes Him known
  • That the Holy Spirit fills us with the life of the Kingdom to come

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

  • Scott, Jen and Isabel as they leave Childwall for a new home and ministry, praying for God’s blessings upon them as they adjust to the many changes they will have to face
  • Teachers, children and families as they enjoy a half-term break, not least all those from Childwall CE Primary School, whilst also holding before God all those secondary school pupils who are facing important public examinations
  • The ongoing ministry of Vestry Hour on Tuesdays, giving thanks for this open opportunity for conversations with the clergy about a host of pastoral and practical issues
  • The meeting of the Deanery Cluster on Wednesday evening in which we are seeking to outwork how as churches in the Deanery we might work more closely and co-operatively together in imaginative mission and ministry
  • The preparations for the visit of the Savoy Jazzmen next Sunday, giving thanks for the gift of music by which to praise God and to recall His mercies in Jesus Christ, and also praying that many will come and enjoy a picnic beforehand
  • The families of the victims of the school coach crash in Keswick this past week, most especially the  relatives of those young people who died
  • The outworking of the policies identified in the Queen’s Speech, not least as a result of the budgetary challenges faced in the present economic climate, that societal values of justice, fairness and opportunity would nonetheless impact positively and in a real way on the lives of ordinary people
  • The ministry and mission of Chaplains in Sport, especially with the Football World Cup on the near horizon, that the team chaplains will minister effectively for Jesus Christ to both individuals and communities
  • The sick and those undergoing medical procedures.
  • All who grieve or who remember the anniversary of a death at this time

Collect for Trinity

Holy God, faithful and unchanging:
enlarge our minds with the knowledge of your truth,
and draw us more deeply into the mystery of your love, that we may truly worship you,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
