All Saints Church Childwall

Our friends at Liverpool Hope chaplaincy have become aware that there are many international students around this christmas. For some, the journey home is too costly and so they will be staying in Liverpool for the holidays. Would any families or individuals be able to offer a meal on Christmas Day? This is an opportunity to show hospitality to someone who may otherwise have no plans for christmas: this would be greatly appreciated. Christingle Service 5pm Sunday December 4^th. All are very welcome to this wonderful service of anticipation in which we celebrate that Jesus is the Light of the World. Please note the 5pm start time to enable children of all ages to be present. Please note that the Christingle Service will be followed by Festive Fun – all welcome!

PRAISE GOD:

• That He shows amazing grace in sending Jesus Christ as our Saviour
• That He calls a community of grace to reveal His purposes to the world
• That He equips, transforms and sustains His people through the grace of the Holy Spirit

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

• Our prayerful and careful reflection on how we will personally respond to the ‘Open for All’ initiative, with its exclusive focus at this stage on the re-development of the Church Hall into the new All Saints’ Centre
• Each of us to engage with the Advent Season with sobriety and thoughtfulness, as we reflect on the purpose of Christ’s incarnation: to save humankind from death and hell, and bring life and liberty to all who call upon Him
• Bookworms on Monday evening, thanking God for the positive relationships and conversations that Bookworms engenders
• The people of Scotland on St Andrew’s Day (Wednesday), praying for the work of the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh
• Gary and the Rockclub leaders as they meet on Thursday to prepare the material for the children for January next year, thanking God for all those who give their time and energy to teach and train our children in the ways of Christ
• Childwall School as they begin this week to bring alive the Christmas story to children and their families, praying      especially for the Early Years and Foundation Stage Nativity Service on Friday
• The people and government of Egypt in the midst of the present turmoil and uncertainty that they face, asking     especially for restraint, engagement and dialogue to quickly replace confrontation and violence
• The ministry and mission of those who live and work in Christian communities, both lay and religious, thanking God for their ministry of prayer, hospitality and service
• Those who are sick, anxious or undergoing medical procedures at this time.
• Those who are bereaved, or who remember the anniversary of a bereavement at this time.

Almighty God,
as your kingdom dawns,
turn us from the darkness of sin to the
light of holiness,
that we may be ready to meet you
in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen
