As a church we actively promote five core values. These values help us understand how to share and model the Gospel. Each week the PCC will highlight in our notices one value in turn, giving examples of what this value means in practice. Please think about what we do as a church in the light of these values, and how we can embody these values more fully. Think also about what this value says to you personally about your own discipleship, or to any group or organisation of which you are a part. If you have any suggestions to make about how we as a church can better express any value in any aspect of our life and witness, then please speak to the clergy, wardens or any member of the PCC: they would be very glad to hear from you. Focused on God the Trinity
If we are:
- worship and prayer are at our heart
- knowing Father, Son and Holy Spirit is our primary purpose
- we see ourselves as a community in mission
If we’re not:
- worship and prayer are optional extras
- serving others/ serving ourselves is our primary purpose
- we see ourselves as individuals

Makes Disciples
If we are:
- we call people to faith in Jesus and to
acceptance of His rule in the whole of their lives
- we encourage people to live a positive Christian lifestyle
- we encourage the gifting and vocation of all the people of God
If we’re not:
- we allow people to think of Jesus as their friend but not their Lord
- we focus on ‘belief’, and do not help people follow through to lifestyle
- we encourage a distinction between active Christians and passengers

Transformational
If we are:
- - we exist to make better the community we serve, through the power of the gospel and the Spirit
- - we see ourselves as a sign of God’s kingdom in our community
- - we are outward-looking
If we’re not:
- – we do not challenge the way things are outside the church
- - we see ourselves as a safe place to withdraw to
- – we are self-serving, self-seeking

Relational
If we are:
- we put relationships above rules, structures, ‘the way we do things’
- we are open to change when new members join
- we encourage deep sacrificial friendships with fellow Christians
If we’re not:
- we put ‘the way we do things’, or the need to get things done before relationships
- we expect new members to conform to our way
- we leave people to make friends, or not
