PRAISE GOD:

  • That He is worthy of glory and praise (Psalm 29 v 2)

  • That He blesses His people with strength and peace (Psalm 29 v 11)

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

  • Our prayerful and careful reflection on how we personally will respond to the ‘Open for All’ initiative, with its exclusive focus at this stage on the re-development of the Church Hall into the new All Saints’ Centre
  • Bishop James and Bishop Richard, thanking God for their ministry, leadership and witness across the diocese and   region, and praying for God’s strength and sustenance for Bishop James in his national role
  • Deanery Synod as it meets on Thursday, praying for Kip Crookes as he chairs this meeting and holding before God the representatives from All Saints who will attend on our behalf
  • Those couples getting married at All Saints this year who will be attending the Marriage Preparation Day on  Saturday, thanking God for the opportunity we have to serve them and witness to them of the boundless love God has for them
  • Preparations for the special service for baptismal families next Sunday, thanking God for the good encounters and relationships that we have with those who come to us for baptism, and praying that these may be developed into  relationships of commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord
  • The people and government of Syria is this ongoing period of heightened tension with the Arab league and the wider geo-political community, and for new ways of finding a peaceful resolution to be sought
  • Today is WORLD LEPROSY DAY. We pray for Gods peace and blessing on people affected by leprosy in Mozambique.  Please guide and inspire Leprosy Mission staff in their continuing work to help change negative attitudes towards people affected by leprosy.

  • The ministry and mission of those Christians who work or serve in the Houses of Parliament, praying for the many ways in which they can bring to bear the values of faith onto the issues that face our society and its governance
  • Those who are sick, anxious or undergoing medical  procedures at this time.
  • Those who are bereaved, or who remember the  anniversary of a bereavement at this time.

Collect for the Third Sunday of Epiphany

God of all mercy,
your Son proclaimed good news to the poor,
release to the captives,
and freedom to the oppressed:
anoint us with your Holy Spirit
and set all your people free
to praise you in Christ our Lord. Amen

SECURITY VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

Gentlemen, are you able to help?

There are two rotas that are supported by the men of the Church but due to recent retirements they are in need of a few more volunteers.

- Vestry hour runs from 7pm to 8pm on Tuesdays and requires someone to be present at the back of Church for security.

The frequency for this is one duty per quarter.

The Car Park is watched over by two people during the evening service from 6.15pm to 8.00pm.

This also currently requires one duty per quarter.

Are you available at either of these times and would you be willing to go on the rota? If so please could you contact me. Thank you to all those who protect our property, it is very much appreciated.

OLD GOLD – FUNDRAISING

Would you donate any old, broken or unwanted pieces of gold to help develop the Church Centre?  The price of gold is currently high.  An old rolled gold necklace you never wear, a broken gold watch strap, the few gold links taken off to shorten a bracelet, an old broken ear-ring, bracelet or necklace may not be of much worth on their own.  As part of a collection they could raise a good sum of money.  Please hand any donations to Ann and Malcolm Colmer or Joyce and Jim Duffy or phone 722 4523 for someone to call and collect. You can also email:info@allsaintschildwall.org.uk

“All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewellery of all kinds: brooches, ear-rings, rings and ornaments.  They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the Lord” (Exodus 35v22)

CRAFTY CREATORS

There will be no meeting in January as the Church Hall is not available. Please contact Hilary Morgan if you have any queries or email: crafty@allsaintschildwall.org.uk
