PRAISE GOD:

  • That He is the Lord and He reigns on high
  • That He is the Author of Creation
  • That He is the Servant King

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

  • Our prayerful and careful reflection on how we personally will respond to the ‘Open for All’ initiative, with its exclusive focus at this stage on the re-development of the Church Hall into the new All Saints’ Centre
  • Constance Witham as she is dedicated at 11am and Scarlet Gabriella Jevons who will be baptised at 12.30pm, that they will grow into a living relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour
  • The Standing Committee of the PCC meeting on Monday, thanking God for the faithful ministry of our church          wardens, Peter and Keith, and our PCC Secretary, Anne, and praying for wisdom in their meeting with Gary
  • Bookworms meeting on Monday, thanking God for the opportunity it provides for fun, conversation and engagement, and praying for good relationships to continue to be birthed and developed
  • The Governors of Childwall CE Primary School meeting on Thursday, and for Gary in his responsibilities as Chair, thanking God for the spiritual life and vibrancy of that school community
  • Final preparations for the visit of Bishop James next week, thanking God for his willingness to be the Patron of our  Development Appeal, and for the support and  encouragement this brings
  • The people and government of Iran is this on-going period of heightened tension with its neighbours and the wider geo-political community, and for new ways of finding common ground to be sought
  • The ministry and mission of those who bring the Gospel to sailors and port-workers, especially in the light of the Costa Concordia tragedy and its graphic highlighting of the dangers of being at sea
  • Those who are sick, anxious or undergoing medical procedures at this time.
  • Those who are bereaved, or who remember the anniversary of a bereavement at this time.

Collect for the second Sunday of Epiphany

Eternal Lord,
our beginning and our end:
bring us with the whole creation
to your glory, hidden through past ages
and made known
in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
