All Saints Church, Childwall
Gracious God, we give thanks
for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth, for her faith and her dedication to duty. Bless our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
All Saints Church Childwall will be open every day until the Queen’s funeral
To write a message in the book of condolence, spend some time in quiet and to pray.

Thank you to everyone who has been on duty this week and has enabled us to open the church every day. It has been really appreciated by many people.
Both our morning services on Sunday at 9.15am and 11am will focus on giving thanks for the life of Queen Elizabeth and commemorating her life.

STORYTIME – every Monday at 10am
Storytime is a group, run by volunteers from All Saints’ church, for pre-school children. Join us in the church hall, on Mondays (During term time), from 10am. For those who are not aware of story time, it starts with a story and involves lots of fun, crafts, teddies and action songs. It costs £2 per family.
Pram Club – every Thursday at 1.30pm – 3pm
Run by a group of volunteers from All Saints for pre-school children.
A time of play, craft and refreshments finishing with songs and a story.
Join us in the church hall every Thursday afternoon. It costs £2 per family.

VESTRY HOUR – every Tuesday in Church from 7pm – 8pm
To book a Baptism or a Wedding or speak to a member of the clergy, please come to Vestry Hour which is held in the church every Tuesday, no appointment is necessary. Please use the wooden door to the left of the tower. You do not need to knock; just come in, take a seat and you will be seen privately in turn.
School Forms – Secondary School Applications
If you need a Secondary school form completing I will be doing this by appointments.
Please email me and I will arrange an appointment time for you. For Primary school forms I will be offering appointments to complete these after the October half term. Thank you, Andrew
Bookworms
There has been a change to the day of the next Bookworms meeting which will now be held on TUESDAY OCTOBER 11th – 7.30pm at the Childwall Abbey pub. The book we shall be discussing is:
THIS LOVELY CITY by LOUISE HARE and was chosen by Viv Kerr. It was discussed on the very first episode of Between the Covers, a BBC2 programme which is a must for book lovers. If anyone is interested in knowing what books we have read and enjoyed previously, please contact me – Val Yates

ROOTED – 18TH SEPTEMBER 2022 – 7PM
Rooted is back. Sunday 18th September, 7pm at St Stephen’s Church, Gateacre. This Rooted will be a praise night where there will be lots of singing, lots of time to pray and an opportunity for prayer ministry.

HARVEST SOCIAL – 15TH OCTOBER 2022 – 7PM
A date for your diaries. We hope you can join us for our Harvest Social. We will be taking part in Tearfund’s BIG QUIZ event. Proceeds will support farmers in Nepal to respond to the climate change crisis. HARVEST
“Celebrate the Feast of Harvest…..bring the best of the first fruits of your soil to the house of the Lord your God”(Exodus 23 vs.16-19)
Once again we will be celebrating the Feast of Harvest on Sunday 9th October. It is a thanksgiving to God for all his goodness and provision for us over the past year. We bring offerings to the Lord which we distribute to those in need around the city, through Foodbank and other charities. We also take gifts to those in the area who are ill or confined to their homes.If you know of anyone whom we could care for in this way please pass details,in confidence, to Margaret Thwaite 727 3334
OFFERS OF HELP NEEDED
We would be grateful for offers of help to distribute gifts into the parish. If you feel able to help please speak to Margaret or telephone as above. We also need help to collate gifts in church from 7 30pm on Sunday 9th October ready for those collecting gifts for distribution.
Also, if you would like to help decorate the church on Saturday 8th October please come between 10 00am and 12 00 noon. NB church will be closed from 12 noon.
