Mother’s Union
Mother’s Union is meeting this week on Tuesday 9th May at 2pm in the church hall.
Our speakers are Kate Yates of Liverpool Youth for Christ & Diane Jones, who will talk about their work with teenage girls. All are very welcome. Sue Watterson, branch leader.

CHAT is on this Wednesday 10TH May 2-4pm (craft, hobbies, art and tea) We would love you to join us at CHAT on Wednesday 10th May from 2-4 pm Where you can CHAT and eat cake etc. with Tea or Coffee and maybe join in with other activities if you would like to.

Our APCM will take place on Wednesday 17th May at 8pm in our Church Hall.

ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING (APCM) Wednesday 17th May 2023 at 8pm in the church hall (or via zoom)
PCC members and church wardens are appointed at this annual meeting.
This year there are 8 vacancies for the PCC and 6 vacancies for the Deanery Synod. (more information about Deanery Synod is at back of church). The election of 2 church wardens and 2 deputy church wardens will also take place at this meeting.
The PCC (Parochial Church Council) is the governing body of All Saints Childwall.
Our vicar is the chairperson and there are usually a total of 15 appointed members of the church.
To stand for election you need to:
- Be over 16years old
- Be willing to consent to be nominated
- Have been on the electoral roll for at least 6 months
- Have received Holy Communion, within the Church of England, at least 3 times in the
previous 12 months - Be legally allowed to be a Charity Trustee
The PCC meets monthly (none in August & December)
They have created SUB-COMMITTEES which carry out specific roles.
Each sub-committee should have at least 1 PCC member as well as other church members who have the enthusiasm and/or relevant expertise. They will meet at least 6 times a year and report back to the PCC.

- Stewardship
- Development & Fabric
- Nurture & Evangelism
- Pastoral
- World Mission

Today, we hear a lot about the Cashless Society, and many people do most of their spending using either a contactless card or their mobile phone. To help those who seldom use cash but wish to support All Saints’ financially, we have installed a contactless facility. It is placed near the main door and we would love to receive your donation to God’s work at All Saints’, either as you enter or as you leave. Any gifts given this way are completely anonymous. The only information we receive as a church is the amount given and the date. Thank you Andrew
Children’s work on Sunday mornings

From Sunday 21st May, Pebbles, Rock Club and Boulders will be provided at our 9.15am service only. This will continue to be in the church hall, and all children will need to be signed in and picked up from the main entrance off the car park please.
The 11am service has been completely reviewed to ensure that with this change in our children’s provision it is accessible and appropriate in its content for all ages.
CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 14th- 21st May 2023
The focus this year is on the African country of Malawi. Families in Malawi are paying the price of the global crisis. Food, fuel, fertiliser and school fees have doubled in price in the last 12 months. Hard working farmers are seeing their harvests fail as the climate crisis brings increasingly erratic weather.
Christian Aid is celebrating how their partners in Malawi are helping farmers transform their livelihoods with pigeon peas – a drought-resistant, soil-revitalising, high-protein, low-cost, delicious crop. We know them as yellow split peas. In Malawi they are used to make bread.
Christian Aid is committed to giving everyone the chance to live a full life, free from poverty. We are hoping that, with your help, the lives of more people will be transformed. At the end of each service on Sunday 14th May you will be given a few Christian Aid envelopes. We hope you will be able to use these to ask friends and family to support this life-giving important work. The following Sunday the envelopes can be put on the collection plate. Working together in this small way, we can make a real difference.
World Mission Area Committee.
VESTRY HOUR on Tuesday’s from 7pm in church
To book a Baptism or a Wedding or speak to a member of the clergy, please come to Vestry Hour which is held in the church every Tuesday, no appointment is necessary. Please use the wooden door to the left of the tower. You do not need to knock; just come in, take a seat and you will be seen privately in turn.
Help still needed.
We plan to open the Church to visitors on a Sunday afternoon from May 28th through to Sept 18th. There are still a few Sundays not covered. If you can help please sign the sheet at the back of Church. With thanks, Garry Critchley.
