The next meeting of our Church reading group is on Monday 4th December at 7.30 pm in the
function room of the Childwall Abbey Pub. All are welcome. The book we will be looking at in December is Pulitzer prize winner, The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. It is the poignant story of a Chinese peasant farmer and his family in old agrarian China. It talks of the importance and power of the land and raises many questions about values in life which are as pertinent today in our society as they were back then in China. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
    Tearfund
Tearfund has been one of All Saints World Mission Partners for many years. Our prayerful and financial support has helped to transform the lives of church communities in many parts of the world where conflict and climate change have caused so many problems. Today Tearfund is already working with 25,000 churches through their Church and Community Transformation (CCT) training bringing changes that are both sustainable and empowering. 9 out of 10 of those who participate in this training built new or improved community assets such as schools, roads or access to water. These communities have also been shown how to diversify the crops that they have grown so lifting themselves out of poverty and improving their lives and the lives of their families.
    Operation Christmas Child

We will need the shoeboxes returning to church no later then Sunday 5th November please. Any further information please contact Jayne Cullen jaynes40th@yahoo.co.uk Fit for Mission
