DOMESTIC ABUSE TRAINING FOR CHURCHES on SATURDAY 11th NOVEMBER
This will be held from 10am to 2pm in the Church Hall and led by Diane Jones from the Crossing
Point Charity. The aim is to equip the church to effectively identify and challenge domestic
abuse, whilst caring for those affected. Relevant, practical information and knowledge will be
provided and we will look at God’s ‘blue print’ with regard to relationships and also examine our
own church culture.
Please let me know if you would like to attend by the end of October. Tea and coffee will be
provided but you will need to bring a packed lunch. There is no charge but the charity welcomes

Bookworms
The next meeting of our Church reading group is on Monday 4th December at 7.30 pm in the
function room of the Childwall Abbey Pub. All are welcome. The book we will be looking at in
December is Pulitzer prize winner, The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. It is the poignant story of a
Chinese peasant farmer and his family in old agrarian China. It talks of the importance and
power of the land and raises many questions about values in life which are as pertinent today in
our society as they were back then in China. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
VESTRY HOUR every Tuesday from 7pm in church
To book a Baptism or a Wedding or speak to a member of the clergy, please come to
Vestry Hour which is held in the church every Tuesday, no appointment is necessary.
Please use the wooden door to the left of the tower. You do not need to knock;
just come in, take a seat and you will be seen privately in turn.

Your Church family needs You!
Please prayerfully consider whether you would be willing
to stand as a Warden or Deputy Warden.

Rediscover the

community!
Riding Lights take
on the Bible, right
across the UK
“So theologically
clever and brilliant.”
“Absolute joy and so
funny.”
Riding Lights is
delighted to be
supported by Bible

Society to bring you INSPIRED …The Word Into Action – a show that’s alive with insight and
wonder. We want every audience member to leave with a renewed sense of the riches to be
found in their Bible and a hunger to know more.
“I’m bowled over by Riding Lights’ ability to make plain the complex, with humour and
powerful theatre. Be aware – attending this show may change your world!”
Luke Walton, Bible Society
“As with Open the Book, the stories are shared in a way that is fun, interactive and
memorable. We are excited to support Inspired 2023” Kerry Evans, Open the Book, Bible Society
Hold onto your seats and enjoy vivid extracts exploding into action as the Word gets down to
Earth and mixes it with human beings. There’s wit, wisdom, faith and folly, as well as… a
remarkable Welsh gift to the world.
In classic Riding Lights style, with vitality, respect and some glorious humour, you can look
forward to fabulous jewels from the big book, as well as less familiar gems from parts that perplex
or inspire the church today.
Starting in the gorgeous gardens of Eden (an area of outstanding natural beauty) and ascending
via any number of historic people, heritage sites, INSPIRED brings you blockbusting stories about
men, women and God before finishing with an amazing wide-screen glimpse into the end of time.
