Christmas Cards – for all parish roads
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to deliver the Christmas Cards which publicise our Christmas events to the Parish. These are now sorted and ready to be collected at the back of Church. There are still 21 bundles for roads which are unallocated if you can help by taking one of these bundles it would be really appreciated.
As the first event (the lighting of the Christmas Tree) takes place on Friday 1st Dec please deliver your bundle as soon as possible.
You might like to pray before you set out delivering using a simple prayer e.g.
“Lord Jesus, bless every house which receives these cards and may they know your peace and joy this Christmas.”
If you do not live in the parish, there are spare cards at the back of the church publicizing all our Christmas services.
Thank you very much, Gary Vyse; Garry Critchley; PCC Publicity Area

Bookworms
The next meeting of our Church reading group is on Monday 4th December at 7.30 pm in the
function room of the Childwall Abbey Pub. All are welcome. The book we will be looking at in December is Pulitzer prize winner, The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. It is the poignant story of a Chinese peasant farmer and his family in old agrarian China. It talks of the importance and power of the land and raises many questions about values in life which are as pertinent today in our society as they were back then in China. We look forward to seeing many of you there!

I am sorry for the delay in asking for your house box to be returned & counted. I have only just received the house box list & authorisation to do so.
£876.60 was sent to the Children’s Society from house box holders in the period October 2022 to June 2023 and £228.20 was sent from the Christingle service last December.
Thank you for your incredible commitment to supporting children & young people who are facing difficult & challenging situations in their lives. The vital funds raised help them get the hope they need today and fight for hope tomorrow.
