SOUTH LIVERPOOL FOODBANK FEBRUARY REQUEST
Thanks for all your generous donations for the Reverse Advent Calendar.
Can we continue to support South Liverpool Foodbank throughout the coming year? Each month we will be targeting one item that the Foodbank are short of,
but please feel free to donate anything else.
So this month is FISHY FEBRUARY
Can you bring in a tin of tuna, sardines or any other fish?
Please leave them in the box in the porch.
Thanks again, Aidan Holmes.
Gas & Electricity – new fixed contract for church and hall
As a PCC we have agreed a new fixed contract for our gas & electricity.
The additional total cost for this year will £7552 more than we are currently paying. This is a significant increase and we do not want this to have a
negative impact on the current ministry of All Saints Childwall.
Thank you so much to all of you that have given £50 towards the increased energy costs. We have received 40 gifts so far. Please prayerfully consider if you can join us and give an additional amount by the end of February 2024.
Any amount towards the increased cost of our energy bill will obviously be very welcome. If you are a tax payer we are able to claim the tax back which will increase the value of your gift. Please see the stewardship table at the back of church for further information.
Thank you – PCC of All Saints Childwall

Have you received malicious emails?
A number of people have contacted me to say that they have received emails from me asking them to complete an urgent task often with a request for financial payment.
These emails appear to be from my account but they are not.
If you look at the sender’s email address they are not from me.
I have received some very helpful IT advice this week which I share with you below.
With your own email account ensure that 2 factor authentication
is set up, this makes your account very secure.
Any ‘hacker’ (which are largely automated) generate emails to a list of other related contacts from previous messages, or other information found in the public domain. They are able to spoof your “from address” to look like you, even though it is not actually from your account.
The typical set of warnings to advise on are:

  • Never open attachments / click on links unless you are expecting them or it’s a regular thing from yourself.
  • Be suspicious of ‘urgency’ in the email about having to do a certain task in a short time limit. Hackers create this sense of urgency to lure people into mistakes without considering carefully what they are doing.
  • Never share bank details or username/passwords after clicking on links in an email without checking if it is safe to do so.
    Fit for Mission
    Opportunity of two presentation evenings.
There will be a time of questions and answers.
These meetings are open to everyone. Your Church family needs You!
Please prayerfully consider whether you would be willing to stand as a Warden or Deputy Warden.
VESTRY HOUR every Tuesday from 7pm in church
To book a Baptism or a Wedding or speak to a member of the clergy, please come to Vestry Hour which is held in the church every Tuesday, no appointment is necessary. Please use the wooden door to the left of the tower. You do not need to knock; just come in, take a seat and you will be seen privately in turn.
Shining Lights Baby & Children’s Bank at St Mary’s Church Halewood
Shining Lights Halewood runs a baby bank out of St. Mary’s Church Halewood.
It provides baby essentials and clothing for older children to families who are struggling.
If you have any baby items you no longer need (baths, Moses baskets, prams, bottles, sterilisers, baby clothes etc.) or good quality clothes your older children have grown out of please donate them to Shining Lights.
(Nappies, wipes and baby toiletries are always needed as well)
Baby bank is open 10am-12 noon every Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, Hillingdon Avenue, Halewood for anyone to access and for donations.
